‘A change in career for Graham’
Graham came to Routes to Work 2020 and registered with Anne Marie Tonner, Graham was interested in securing work that could offer him a career, he had been a taxi driver and found himself out of work and getting nowhere. Like a lot of people who find themselves in this position, he was feeling static and as though he had not where to turn couldn’t see himself securing work which was going to help him build a career.
Anne Marie referred him to ELW (Marie) they worked together trying to find suitable employment for Graham, Anne Marie identified very early on that other interventions could be useful for Graham in order for him achieve his goals
Graham was referred to skills for CSCS
He accessed map/path life coaching sessions
Health and well being advice
Career planning and matching
Intensive job search, interview skills
Referral to ELW for advice on changing career , advice on adult apprenticeships, course search
Between these interventions ELW (Marie) was also actively subbing him to vacancies looking for a change in career for him, he had been put forward for a few vacancies and had been called to interview for a few as well, his confidence was great, he was excelling in these situations, and was offered a post, this is a driving job with excellent career prospects installing metres for electric cars.
Both Marie and Anne Marie chatted to Graham after his job offer and he was over the moon, he was told just before Christmas and it couldn’t have came at a better time. He started on 11/1/21
He was then referred to In work support and he received Travel and subsistence fund
Graham has started his job now and has been spending time away from home and travelling with the company, things are really looking up and he is looking to the future!
