We can support our clients to gain new skills, motivation, and build trust to allow them to be online and in the ever-evolving digital world.
SQA National Progression Award in Digital Literacy
Designed to introduce Learners to a range of different digital tools, productivity software and digital communication methods. Engage and encourage Learners to use and achieve a basic understanding of digital technology in use in everyday contexts. Many Learners struggle cope with new technology, without really understanding its potential and how it can be used to improve their everyday lives and this award will allow Learners to explore a diverse range of digital technology. The Units combine the softer skills of communication and working with others within the context and use of digital technology. This allows Learners to relate these soft skills to electronic equipment they may use every day. It will help build confidence in the use of digital technology whilst improving the softer skills. Units include:
Upon successful completion of all units Learners will be awarded a SQA Level 3 Award in Digital Skills.

Our digital skills training offers help and support in a relaxed and informal setting in a classroom environment. Training can be tailored to the specific needs of the individual – so even if learners have never used a computer before, we can get them started on building the skills that will open up the digital world.
We will encourage learners to practice the skills they learn, so that working with computers gradually becomes less daunting, and more within their comfort zone.
If Learners have used computers in the past, we can build up skills that are a bit rusty and spend time building up confidence.

Jobcentre DPS programme
Routes to Work are delighted that our skills team delivered our first Capability Digital Skills Course through Jobcentre Plus using the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). The course was a resounding success with very positive feedback from the participants on the course.

The course offers residents of North Lanarkshire support to ensure that their digital skills reaches a level that will allow them to make their claim for Universal Credit and also look for work. The service was initially delivered from our Airdrie Office, but can be delivered all over North Lanarkshire. The course covered basic I.T Skills, sending and using e-mail, development of a CV, using the internet and considerable individual and group work to develop skills and confidence for each participant on the course.
The course is designed to support and provide practical assistance in a relaxed and informal setting and in a group environment and ensure that all participants have the relevant skills to be capable to manage their Universal Credit account and have the skills to look for work.
