Depute Manager

A Motherwell based private nursery that offer a learning provision service to children from 12 weeks to 5 years are looking to recruit a Depute Manager who will support the manager in the day to day running of the service. The depute manager will also be responsible for a practitioner role within the playrooms at times throughout the week. There will be a hybrid working expectation with being in the playrooms and completing management tasks. The post is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hourly rate is negotiable.

Duties: 

• Lead and manage daily operations with the Manager of the Nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

• Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and educational programmes.

• Develop and implement engaging curricula that promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of children.

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.

• Drive initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided, including staff training and professional development opportunities.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children at all times.

• Collaborate with local authorities and community organisations to promote the Nursery's services.

Experience

• Strong background in early childhood education, with knowledge of developmental milestones for children.

• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with staff, parents, and external stakeholders.

• Experience working directly with children is highly desirable, showcasing an understanding of their needs and behaviours.
