Materials/Procurement


• Maintain supplier relationships to ensure good pricing, and service provision, with minimal support from Facilities Supervisor.

• Identify stock trend; order where needed and escalated when concerned.

• Identify and communicate stock concerns and escalate to Facilities Supervisor.

• Provide alternative stock solutions for both materials and suppliers in support of the Study Managers.

• Continually keep abreast of estimated times of arrival for ordered stock and communicate effectively and diligently to the appropriate colleagues (operations team).


Equipment/Facilities

• Define maintenance schedule to reflect continuous maintenance requirement and undertake accordingly.

• Assign daily and weekly scheduled maintenance tasks to junior laboratory support operatives to ensure master schedule is always maintained.

• Maintain all laboratory equipment safely, including Data Generating Equipment seeking guidance from equipment owners, when necessary.

• Ensure that all completed maintenance activities and forms are recorded in LIMS as per QMS.

• Review completed calibration documents and query discrepancies with external contractors.

• Solutionise and support routine equipment complaints or issues with non-data generating equipment.

• Organise service provision and maintenance, with external suppliers/engineers in line with SOPs. • Write and continually improve equipment SOPs, supported by the equipment owner. • Where appropriate write Installation and Operational Qualification documentation for non-specialised pieces of equipment.

• Perform where appropriate Operation Qualification of equipment alongside supporting documentation.

• Where possible aid, respond, and troubleshoot alarm events detected on the Equipment


Monitoring System. Information Technology (IT)

• Maintain internal hardware inventory log.


Samples

• Organise, and arrange shipments of samples to customers where necessary.

• Identify, and resolve any unforeseen issues with sample shipments.

• Where required, use delivery paperwork and labels to create SSF for consideration and review by Study Managers.


Compliance

• Perform technical review of a range of documents including, but not limited to maintenance documentation, material specifications, SOPs, COSHH and training.

• Contribute and lead simple process improvements within the scope of the QMS.

Collaborate and contribute:

• to complex process improvement projects.

• the completion of Risk Assessments and Deviations, with guidance from the Quality Team.


Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance of COSHH documentation in support of correct handling and storage.

• Ensure compliance of COSHH documentation in support of disposal of materials and biological waste.

• When directed by the Health and Safety Committee, undertake Health and Safety Risk Assessments across the business.


Learning & Development

• Identify projects and required training to enhance learning and ongoing development.

• 5 x A - C National 5’s or equivalent (incl. maths and a science).

• Previous experience working within a fast-paced operations team or regulated environment is desirable but not essential. We would like you to be:
