Nursery Assistant Apprentice

Established local nursery seeking a new apprentice. The successful candidate will be aged 16 -19 years old and will work towards SVQ3 Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People). 

The apprenticeship will last approximately 18 - 24 months. 

This is a full-time position, with hours of work from Monday to Friday with possible shift patterns between 8.00am - 5.45pm. To assist Early Learning Practitioners in their role to facilitate high quality early learning and childcare for our service users. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities for children in the nursery

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and play

• Support children's physical, emotional, and social development

• Collaborate with other nursery practitioners to create engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences

• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding their child's day

• Assist in the daily cleaning of the nursery environment.

Essential:

• You must be an enthusiastic, friendly individual with a genuine interest in developing a career in childcare.

• You must hold 3 National Standards Awards - one of which must be English.

• Ability to engage and interact positively with children

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable:

• Previous experience working with young children is preferred but not required

Please note that this is an apprenticeship position, which means you will receive on-the-job training and support from experienced nursery practitioners.
