Routes to Work are delighted that our skills team delivered our first Capability Digital Skills Course through Jobcentre Plus using the Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). The  course was a resounding success with very positive feedback from the participants on the course.

  • “I can now look for jobs myself instead of relying on my daughter to do it for me”
  • “The course & instructors were great I am more confident on a laptop”
  • “I can confidently use a computer and sear for jobs competently
  • “The Routes to Work instructors were so knowledgeable and couldn’t have been more attentive”

The course  offers residents of North Lanarkshire support to ensure that their digital skills reaches a level that will allow them to make their claim for Universal Credit and also look for work.  The service was initially  delivered from our Airdrie Office, but can be delivered all over North Lanarkshire.  The course covered basic I.T Skills, sending and using e-mail, development of a CV, using the internet and considerable individual and group work to develop skills and confidence for each participant on the course.

The course is designed to support and provide practical assistance in a relaxed and informal setting and in a group environment and ensure that all participants have the relevant skills to be capable to manage their Universal Credit account and have the skills to look for work.

Well done to all our participants on acquiring digital IT skills and best of luck in your journey to employment.
