Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Server to join our vibrant team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for both meal preparation and serving customers in a fast-paced snack van environment on our site. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Working hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and working 1 in 5 Saturdays, 9am to 5pm.


Duties

Prepare and cook snacks and meals according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.

Assist in the preparation of food items, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.

Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen and dining area.

Serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders and addressing any dietary requirements or preferences.

Collaborate with other staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Clean and organise kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations after use to maintain a tidy environment.

Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.


Skills

Proven experience in meal preparation within a snack van or similar setting is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations to ensure compliance in the kitchen.

Excellent culinary skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately while also being creative in food presentation.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong communication skills

A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to help others are essential for success in this role.

All convictions whether spent or unspent must be declared. These posts are regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This Job description is not exhaustive and will require flexibility to undertake other duties and responsibilities as and when required by the organisation to meet service demands.
