The Role

As a Manufacturing Operative you will play an essential role in the manufacturing and processing of high-quality glass products. Your responsibilities will include supporting our production processes, ensuring top-notch quality, and adhering to safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating Machinery: You will be responsible for operating various machines involved in cutting, shaping, and processing glass. This includes following operational instructions and adhering to safety guidelines.

  • Handling and Processing Glass: Safely loading and unloading glass onto production lines or machines, ensuring that glass sheets or components are handled with care to avoid damage.

  • Quality Control: Conducting quality checks on finished glass products to identify any defects, such as cracks or chips, and reporting any issues to your supervisor.

  • Assembly and Packaging: Assisting with the assembly of glass units, such as double glazing, and packaging products for safe transportation or further production stages.

  • Safety and Maintenance: Ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also conduct basic maintenance checks on equipment and report any faults or malfunctions.

  • Material Handling: Moving raw materials to the production area and organizing inventory as needed to keep the production process flowing smoothly.

  • General Production Support: Working closely with your team to meet production targets, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting various tasks as needed to ensure an efficient workflow.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hardworking, dedicated, and passionate.

  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and consideration for others.

  • Able to follow instructions accurately and perform tasks diligently.

  • Punctual, with a strong attendance record, and fully committed to your shift hours.

  • Manual dexterity. Good hand-eye coordination and physical fitness, as the role involves lifting and standing.

Desirable (Non-Essential) Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.

  • Flexibility in working hours, with the ability to work night shifts if required.

  • Driving Licence

Additional Information:

· Location: Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, ML4 3LU

· Working Hours / Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week with rotating shifts.

  • Week 1: Monday – Friday, 06:00 - 15:00 (finishing at 14:30 on Fridays).

  • Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-23:00. Friday 12:30 - 21:00

Positions Available: Up to 10 openings.
