Location: Central Scotland (East Kilbride Area)
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive – Dependent on Experience

About the Role

An established communications and infrastructure company is seeking an experienced Data Cable Engineer to support the delivery of structured cabling projects across Scotland, Northern England, and Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality installations and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards. Van will be provided. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and fibre optic cabling.

  • Installation of containment systems including trunking, basket, tray, and conduit.

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and site plans.

  • Fault finding and remedial works.

  • Completion of testing and certification documentation.

  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site.

  • Liaising professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience installing and testing structured cabling systems.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.

Desirable Requirements

  • CSCS Card (preferred).

  • Fibre optic installation and testing experience.

  • Experience working within commercial and industrial environments.

Travel Requirements

The role will involve travel throughout:

  • Scotland

  • Northern England

  • Ireland

The successful candidate will be expected to work away from home on occasion. Accommodation and a daily allowance will be provided for all approved overnight stays.
