ROUTES TO IMPACT
Demonstrating public value and social impact. Our social value evaluation framework was developed and tested through our Knowledge Transfer Partnership - Capturing intangible community benefits of Routes to Work's daily life changing interventions.
WHAT IS ROUTES TO IMPACT?
‘Routes to Impact’ is our vital Social Value Evaluation Framework designed in partnership with University of the West of Scotland and Innovate UK to capture the full social impact and public value that is typically not measured with soft and intangible outcomes, such as improved confidence and mental health.
This is key in showcasing the value of what Routes to Work provides every day by delivering comprehensive community benefit for North Lanarkshire and demonstrating best value duty.

SOCIAL RETURN ON INVESTMENT (SROI)
£1:£7.34
ASSURED BY

THIS MEANS THAT FOR EVERY £1 INVESTED INTO ROUTES TO WORK £7.34 IS GENERATED INTO THE ECONOMY. TAKING INTO ACCOUNT OUR INCREASED TURNOVER FROM OUR KTP PARTNERSHIP AND APPLYING OUR SROI VALUE - IT EQUATES TO AN ADDITIONAL £17 MILLION INTO THE SCOTTISH ECONOMY.
WELL DEFINED OUTCOMES FOR MEASURING SOCIAL IMPACT
'Routes to Impact' provides the crucial data and moves beyond standard metrics to quantify the public and social value generated by our work, instead focusing on vital and valuable soft outcomes. This allows us to demonstrate true SROI and meet rigorous Charity Accountability standards.

REAL EXAMPLES OF OUR SOCIAL IMPACT WE FOUND
"I would say that I feel more relaxed. I don't know what it is. I suffered from anxiety all my life, but I just feel that I'm in a good place just now"
"It has changed dramatically. Even before I started work. It really increased my confidence. And because I knew that my caseworker was doing a one-to-one approach near to my plan, my action plan that gave me confidence that I did actually have the ability to get back to work. You know that I wasn't just going to be stuck on the booth the rest of my days. Made me feel like I am worth it"
"They were very understanding of my individual needs. All my fears and my barriers, and I believe that my caseworker really took time to try and understand that and understand why, you know, it had impacted on my life so much with confidence and motivation"

OUR KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PARTNERSHIP
Our 'Routes to Impact' framework was made possible through a strategic Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). This vital collaboration developed the robust, evidence-based methodology to measure both tangible and subjective outcomes - providing credible data to demonstrate social impact.
