Long established, successful and busy law firm in Motherwell handling a wide variety of types of legal work, mainly property law and private client work, are looking to recruit an administrator.

The hours of work are full time, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour lunch break.

To support the completion of legal casework by solicitors and paralegals in completing a number of set tasks for which full training will be provided.

Duties will include:- dealing with clients’ enquiries on the phone and face to face, booking appointments, file management using client management software, general administrative duties including photocopying, collation of documents, filing, proof reading, opening and closing client files, including drafting of AML documentation and chasing ID and proof of address information, filling out standard forms, preparing reports, maintaining records for clients and legal research/searches when required, maintain client confidentiality and legal professional privilege.

Essential Criteria / Desirable Criteria

Essential:  Excellent IT skills including full MS packages, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work to prioritised tasks and deal with clients’ enquiries, ability to work with, and willingness to take direction from various levels of legal staff from partner to paralegals.  The successful applicant should be happy working in a busy office environment and able to work on their own initiative.

Desirable:  Experience of working within a legal environment, familiarity with legal terms and language.
