Location: Shotts, North Lanarkshire
Hours: Full-time (including weekends) 6am - 1pm
Salary: Apprenticeship rate (in line with government guidelines), increasing to National Minimum Wage upon completion
About the Role
We are a well-established butcher based in Shotts, looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Butcher to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a school leaver (up to age 18) to start a career in the butchery trade, learning from experienced professionals while working towards a recognised qualification.
Training & Qualification
Full apprenticeship programme delivered and certified by Scottish Craft Butchers
Hands-on training in all aspects of butchery
Opportunity to gain recognised qualification in the trade
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the preparation and cutting of meat products
Learning traditional and modern butchery techniques
Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety
Keeping work areas clean, organised and compliant with regulations
Supporting the team with daily shop operations
What We’re Looking For
A school leaver (aged up to 18) due to apprenticeship funding criteria
Keen interest in learning a skilled trade
Hardworking, reliable and willing to learn
Good attitude and strong work ethic
Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Willingness to work early mornings and weekends
