Childcare Practitioner

Afterschool, holiday club and breakfast club care provider based in Coatbridge are looking to recruit a Childcare Practitioner.

Working 20 hours per week.  Shift patterns will be within the business operating hours of Monday to Friday 3pm– 6pm during term time and is open longer during school holidays. The successful candidate may possibly have to work at the breakfast club (business operating hours 8am-9am).

During the school holidays the successful candidate will make up their 20 hours when the company are open from 8am-6pm.

The business provides care for children aged P1 – P7.  This role would suit someone qualified or looking to become qualified in childcare. If the successful candidate does not have an SVQ in Childcare the business will put them through this and provide training.  This is a part time role, working no more than 20 hours per week.

Pay rate will be £10.50 per hour.

Duties: 

Duties will include picking up children from school, preparing snacks, setting up play area, providing activities for children, supervising and monitoring, teaching/ developing children new skills and cleaning duties.

Essential Requirements: 

-A PVG check will be required, if applicants already have this, then that would be a bonus. If not, this will be carried out prior to the successful applicant starting employment.

-Must register with SSSC (within 6 months of starting employment)

-A driver’s licence is preferred, but not essential

-Any previous childcare experience/qualifications would also be advantageous, but it is not essential.

-If the successful candidate is not qualified in childcare, they must be willing be put through an SVQ in Childcare and work towards becoming a fully qualified practitioner.

Required Qualifications: 

SVQ 3 in Childcare can be gained through this role.
