The Role: Domestic Staff
As a Domestic Staff Member, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the care home. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being, dignity, and comfort of our residents. This is not just about cleaning—it’s about creating a home where people feel respected, cared for, and valued.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
•Cleaning and sanitising resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and other spaces according to established schedules and procedures.
•Maintaining high standards of hygiene to help prevent the spread of infection and ensure the safety of everyone in the care home.
•Assisting with laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and residents’ personal clothing.
•Ensuring that cleaning supplies are used safely and stored appropriately, and reporting any shortages or issues promptly.
•Disposing of waste and recycling in accordance with care home policies and environmental guidelines.
•Supporting the maintenance team with minor tasks such as reporting repairs or hazards and helping to keep the environment free from clutter and obstacles.
•Respecting residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal space at all times, and being sensitive to their individual needs and preferences.
•Occasionally assisting residents with simple tasks (such as tidying personal items) under the guidance and supervision of nursing or care staff.
•Participating in ongoing training and team meetings to stay up to date with best practices and developments in infection control and health & safety.

•Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
•Awareness of health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards (training will be provided).
•Previous experience in a cleaning, housekeeping, or domestic role (especially within a care setting) is desirable but not essential.
•Right to work in the UK and satisfactory Disclosure PVG check and references required before employment can commence.

Your Working Day
