Early Years Apprentice

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Locally based, family-run nursery which has been operational for 19 years under the current owners seeks an Early Years Apprentice. The nursery has 3 playrooms in total - baby playroom, toddler playroom and our 3–5-year-old playroom. The nursery is open 8.00am – 6.00pm 50-weeks of the year and the working hours would be 40-hours per week on a 2 weekly shift rotation.

This is an apprentice opportunity.

As a member of the team, the post holder will assist in the provision of a high quality of education and care for children aged 6 weeks – 5 years placed within the nursery.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate would be responsible for: - Providing all aspects of care, including feeding and nappy changing; Providing a caring, friendly and relaxing environment in order to encourage and develop   children within their care; Planning, implementing learning activities appropriate to the age and stage of the development of the children; Assisting in general housekeeping duties.

Essential criteria: Genuine passion for working with children / developing a career in early years; Motivated and highly organised individual who will be able to balance work and studies; Good team working skills; Able to relate well to preschool children; Able to communicate well with parents, children, and other staff members.

Desirable criteria: Food Hygiene certificate; First Aid certificate.
