Company Profile
A Bargeddie based road construction company are looking to add a Highway Maintenance Operative to their busy team. The Highway Maintenance Operative plays an important part in the installation of temporary traffic management and all aspects of highway maintenance works and also plays a vital part in Operations.
This role will also include Road Safety Improvement & Active Travel schemes, civils works,
drainage works, road gritting, maintenance works, routine cyclic activities.
Supporting the Highways Department in all aspects of assisting in the production of deliverables
(both internally and externally) ensuring controls are enforced across the business.
You will ensure that work standards meet the client expectations and maintain client and
colleague communications at all times.
The role will include an initial 3 month probation.
The weekly hours are 39 hours a week, with overtime available at the weekend.
The candidate must be available to be enrolled in our winter and summer standby rota.
Hourly rate starts at £12.60.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
· Experience in construction and highways maintenance works.
· Drive/operate vehicles including HGV/small & sarge plant ensuring vehicle checks, routing
· maintenance and cleaning is carried out.
· Winter and Summer Maintenance – including emergency call out and standby.
· Keep records, including drivers’ hours and any paperwork necessary or mobile devices.
· Comply with Health & Safety regulations and maintain accurate work records.
· Participate in winter and summer standby and be part of the standby rota.
· You hold a valid driving licence (HGV class 2 preferred) and a drivers CPC card.
· NRSWA card.

· Work safe home safe mentality: Working to company Electrical safety Rules, Wiring
· regulations, best practice codes, RAMS and all other relevant documentation.
· You will have an excellent Knowledge and understanding of electrical construction to required
· specification.
· The confidence to challenge current practices and initiate new ones to improve efficiency.
