A Bellshill based employee owned painting solutions business, where making it matter is integral to their business strategy, are looking to add a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to their busy team. Due to the staff possessing a wealth of experience of painting and commercial projects they have attained a very strong client base. They work with many blue-chip companies from sectors including: Education, Leisure, Facilities Management, Property Management, Retail, Manufacturing, New Build and Healthcare.
Hours of work – 40 hours per week from 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Holidays - The Company’s holiday year runs from 1st January to 31st December (“Holiday Year”). In the first year of service, you are entitled to 2.08 working days’ paid holiday for each completed month of service in that Holiday Year plus statutory holidays which occur during the period of service. After your first year of service you will be entitled to 25 working days paid holiday plus statutory holidays in every complete Holiday Year worked. You will accrue 1/12th of your annual holiday entitlement per completed month of service. Hourly rate starts at £12.60.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Assisting Senior QS with measurement, evaluation & pricing of tenders. Assisting Senior QS with managing commercial aspects of projects from contract award through to final account. Assisting Senior QS with producing & submitting applications for payments & invoices. Assisting Senior QS with supply chain management. Assisting Senior QS with Cash collection. Assisting Senior QS with reporting & forecasting.
Essential Criteria :
Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative Excellent time management skills, with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Competent with IT & particularly Microsoft excel. Keen , enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn
Other Info :
This is very much a learn on the job role which will involve successful individual shadowing the Senior QS, successful individual will learn about carrying out site measures, dealing with clients, building up charge rates, learning about specifications. Successful individual will be provided health/ safety training, asbestos awareness training & much more
